Jeff Mitchell

Jeff W. Mitchell, 41, died of a heart attack on Oct. 20, 1994, in Big Lake, Alaska. Jeff was born April 3, 1953 in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor of science degree in environmental control. He also attended the University of Miami for two years.

In 1978, Jeff moved to Alaska. He worked for American Building Maintenance Co. for eight years. Jeff was also an animal rights advocate who enjoyed fishing, reading, and gold panning. His family said, "Jeff was a free spirit, loving the great outdoors and the feeling of being one with nature. He will be missed deeply and remembered when each of us have an activity in the outdoors. To him, one of life's greatest treasures was friendship. He always tried and looked for the good in everyone."

In 1994, Jeff was survived by his parents, Bob and Barbara Mitchell of Indianapolis, IN (now deceased); sister and brother-in-law, Gerry Lynn (LC 1970) and Patrick Ryan of Bloomington, IN.; niece and nephew, Parker Lynn and Kaleb Mitchell Ryan, both of Bloomington, IN.
