Kathy and I met in the 6th grade at Brook Park and continued a friendship until her death when we were both at I.U. Kathy’s dad was my dad’s boss. That could have been awkward for us, but Kathy’s kindness and sweet nature never let it be an issue. In the face of her lifelong disease, Kathy was a courageous, funny, smart, life-affirming sweetheart. She would have laughed and hugged us all at the reunion. Kathy, you have been an inspiration of spirit. It was my honor to know you.

Kathy was a great friend of mine in high school.  She was so intelligent, funny, caring, and lots of fun to sit next to in class.  I always looked forward to seeing her and hearing whatever words of wisdom she would impart.  I remember coming back to Indy one year, hearing of her passing, and feeling such a tremendous sense of loss.  You are still loved and missed, Kathy!

I just loved Kathy. We grew close in high school, and traveled to Europe together in the summer of 1970 with the Foreign Study League. That trip was just more wonderful and fun with Kathy in our group.  She always cheered me up, made me laugh.  She was witty as hell!  I still have my journal of that trip & lots of memories of Kathy in it.  She was a good person to confide in.

I wish I could talk to her right now. She was a treasured friend.  I miss you, Kathy.

I was in Girl Scouts with Kathy and we had pool parties at her house.  We never knew she had a heart condition untill she passed. She always cared about everyone.
