Obituary

Charles Eugene House, 69, Greenfield, Indiana passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Charles
was born on February 7, 1952 in Hodgenville, KY to Charles Madison and Stacie Marie
(Despain) House. Charles is a 1971 graduate of Lawrence Central High School. He
served in the U.S. Marine’s. He married his love, Nancy Sue Crannor.
Charles was a tremendously loving individual. He never had a bad word to say about
anyone. He was overly dedicated to his work and never missed a day, even while under
the weather. Charles was a true survivor who battled cancer for 15 years. He never
complained, never took a break, and never gave up hope. He worked as a laborer for a
few construction sites around Indianapolis over the years. He retired after 10 years with
Gibraltar Construction. In Charles’ younger years, he enjoyed riding 4-wheelers with his
son Charlie and taking family vacations to Panama City. In his more mature years,
Charles joined the Masonic Lodge in Lawrence, enjoyed riding Harley Davidsons, hiking
in Fort Ben Harrison State Park, looking forward to time spent with his brothers,
spending time with friends, volunteering for 8 years with his comrades in Post #261 for
area Funeral Guard honors, and supporting our 4-legged friends with the Humane
Society. But above all, family was Charles’ priority, and his family will miss him beyond
words.
He is survived by his loving son, Charlie (Samantha) House; grandsons: Charlie Blake
House and Clayton Madison House; brothers: Benny (Kathy) House, Eddie (Janice)
House, and Ricky House; several nieces and nephews; his buddies on Post #261; and
many friends and former work colleagues.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Nancy Sue House; and sister, Connie
Robbins.
Ride your Harley’s over to Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 West Main Street,
Greenfield, on July 26, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. to attend visitation and stay
for the service immediately following at 6:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Ronnie Romans.
As a last salute, his buddies in Post #261 will afford him military honors. Memorial
contributions may be made to support Charles’s love for animals at your local favorite
Humane Society.
